The journey so far
I've been building, tinkering, and experimenting with technology most of my life.
It started with a Counter-Strike community website as a teenager, evolved into creating popular CodeIgniter libraries, and led me through years of freelance software engineering to Silicon Valley.
After a decade in the USA, I've returned to my roots in Cumbria to forge a new path.
Current chapter
As Chief Technology Officer at Tract, I'm working to tackle Britain's housing crisis by building a unified platform for planning permission.
When I'm not leading tech strategy, I'm usually working on a personal project:
Tech & Projects
- Coding with my favorite stack (NextJS, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS)
- Building CropNerd, an AI-powered gardening knowledge base that combines my passion for technology and growing things
Life & Hobbies
- Renovating my house and nurturing a vegetable garden from scratch
- Gaming - particularly strategy and building games like Project Zomboid, Cities Skylines 2, Crusader Kings 3, and Factorio
- Making music - I play guitar and sing just well enough to get a pub singalong going
